Urgent Serving Opportunity: Help Transport a Family in Need!!!

Church Family,

We have an opportunity to partner with our local DCBS (Department for Community Based Services) and Bailey Zaretzke to serve a family right here in our area!

A Hispanic mother and her five children (all 10 and under) need transportation to the Greyhound Bus Stop in Madisonville.

  • Pick-up location: Sebree, KY (Address made available when drivers are secured.
They live there, with some suitcases)

  • Drop-off: Greyhound stop at 99 Free Henry Ford Rd, Madisonville, KY 42431

  • Bus departure: 6:55 PM Monday, February 16th.

Plan: Pick up the church van → drive to Sebree → load family and luggage → drive to Madisonville bus stop → return van to church.

The mother speaks limited English, but her 10-year-old daughter is fluent and can translate. About a year ago her husband was deported, and she's struggled alone.

Tickets are purchased for her and the children to join her mother in Texas—a much better situation for the family. A Sebree church has prepared a care package; they just need a ride in a vehicle that is large enough to accommodate their family .

Time estimate (with buffer for loading/unloading): Leave church around 4:30-4:45 PM to arrive safely by 6:55 PM. Total round-trip = 2-2.5 hours.

We need 1-2 drivers/volunteers (preferably a male and female) willing to help on Tuesday. If you can drive the van or assist, please contact Bro. Corey ASAP.

This is a tangible way to show Christ's love—thank you for considering!

"TRULY, I SAY TO YOU, AS YOU DID IT TO ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE MY BROTHERS, YOU DID IT TO ME." — MATTHEW 25:40

Volunteer Wednesday-Night Meal Prep (3-4 hours / month)

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others.” — 1 Peter 4:10

Why This Matters

Before Bible classes begin, 130 hungry kids, teens, and adults gather for a warm family meal (chili, tacos, pasta bakes, etc). A plate of spaghetti or tacos may feel small, yet God uses it to spark fellowship, ease stress for busy parents, and open hearts to His Word.

What You’ll Do

(Just the cooking—others handle serving & cleanup)

  1. Team Huddle: Collaborate with Lana and the other cooks to determine the month’s simple menu for each week.

  2. Arrive: Can be partially cooked in your home or exclusively in the Activity Building kitchen (whatever works best for you).

  3. Prep & Cook: Through collaboration, all you have to do is chop, stir, season, bake—ingredients are already purchased and ready to prepare.

  4. Hand-Off: By 5:15 PM the food is hot and ready for the serving crew.

  5. High-Five & Head Home: No serving line and no dish-duty—really! Though, we do not discourage you staying and helping, either.

Total on-site time: Serve monthly (or possibly more) on a rotating schedule—whatever fits.

Will I have help?

·      Yes! A veteran cook will shadow you your first time.

·      Others will arrive closer to serving time to help, so you’re never alone.
